The Joy of Grandchildren

There is just nothing to compare with the fun of being with grandchildren. For the past 8 years (exceptions being when I was in Washington for 6 months or so) I have gone into Aurora and spent Thursdays with four of my grandchildren. We have done everything from going to the Zoo to lunch at Chuckiecheese(?). Today I took Natalie to Hobby Lobby to pick out material for a purse. Seems like everyone is into those little colorful purses. You could have dozens of them. Well, Natalie picked out a real cute pattern. There will be three different designs and they blend so well together. Hopefully, it won't take me long to make.

Talking about "blending" together - isn't it nice when we meet people who blend with our personality. Oh, the fun, the laughter, the serious talk, just everything about it makes our conversation great. The Lord, in Psalm 133:1 puts it this way. "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!" A oneness of spirit. I find this at work some days. A customer will come in and the next thing you know we are conversing like we had known each other for months. I guess it is that we "blend" when we allow each other to be ourselves and not expect more. Each person I have come in contact with seems to add something to my life. Something to my memories. Something that I can dwell on and say, "yea, that makes sense." I have found that the average person has about the same difficulties as we all do. So, let's just be kind to everyone and let God do His work through us.

OK, back to the grandchildren. The four in Aurora, Illinois - Cory, Nicole, Natalie, Josh. Our Cory is now in Heaven with his Saviour since April 27, 2008. More on him in another blog. Nicole is 14 and in the 9th grade in Oswego. Natalie is 11 and in the 6th grade, and Josh is 10 and in the 5th grade at Longbeach. Each have their own little personalities and they are really great fun. Nicole beats me in Wheel of Fortune. Nicole and Natalie and even Josh are great swimmers. Josh is a natural in sports. Mainly football. Just as soon as I learn how to add pictures, I will put their pictures in here. Oh no! there's Nicole sleeping!!!!

Well, that's it for tonight.

Pork Chop Dinner

Went to church. Came home and made a pork chop dinner. Delicious! Watched a little of the Olympics, checked email, checked four blogs, laid out material for a few craft items, made a couple of phone calls, nothing exciting, just a lazy day.

Three Big Boxes

I have decided to disclose my "stuff". It consists of tons of material (all colors and designs), bias tape (every color-even gold and silver), yards and yards of lace, zippers of every size and color, boxes (little white square boxes-perfect for one piece of fudge), bracelet boxes, tin boxes for cookies etc, several little Plano Molding Company boxes (50 cents each). Now all of these went into large plastic bends and then covered with two large black garbage bags (so the nice plastic bends would not get dusty) placed in the gargage for further study!!?? Of course there are two smaller plastic bends filled with buttons, snaps, etc etc. These are sitting on top of the big black trunk full of wood crafts. Maybe, just maybe having them in the garage and not seen every day in my closet will help me to put away "stuff" for awhile. Now, any of you that would like to look through these are welcome and you may just want to do a little crafting. Is that a word!

Now that clutter is gone for a while, I would like to tell you how I came up with my name for my blog; Live Love Laugh and Be Happy. As I was strolling "Down Memory Lane" I discovered that Living, Loving, Laughing and Being Happy is what my life is really all about. Let me explain.

Live -"For to me to live is Christ" - Phil 1:21

Love - "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 22:37-39

Laugh - "Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them. The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad." Psalm 126:2, 3

Be Happy - "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;" Proverbs 3:13

Living for Christ is loving family and friends and all peoples, laughing and enjoying life, and being happy in His wisdom.

Hey, it's Me

Good morning. I can't believe I have just set up a blog! Live Love Laugh Be Happy. Live each day as though it might be your last. Love unconditionally. Laugh a lot. Be a happy person. Actually I have found that being happy is a choice most of the time. CHOICES - well, that is a subject do discuss at some time.

Today is Saturday, August 16, 2008. It is 8:00 am. Today I am choosing to finish organizing the "stuff" in the garage. We started yesterday and it looks pretty good. However, about 1:00 am I got the brainstorm to take all the "stuff" out of the computer room closet and put it in plastic boxes so I can store it in the garage. Neatly of course. Now there is CHOICE. Do I really need all the "stuff" I have accumulated in the past ahhhhhhh years!! How about some of you reading this let me know what you have finally done with all your "stuff". Oh my goodness, I could start talking about how "stuff" crowds your mind. "Should I sew today, or make cards, or embroider something, or make a scrapebook, or, or, or......" The list goes on and on if we store too much "stuff".

See, I have chosen to dwell on "stuff' simply because I still have so much. OK, so how about it - let me hear from you as to how you would handle your "stuff".

Gotta go - gramps and I both have doctor appointments.

Today is the day the Lord has made and we will be glad in it.
