Strolling Down Memory Lane With My God

Deut 6:4-9
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

My mind is wandering today and my thoughts take me back to 1327 Anderson Blvd, Geneva, Illinois. It was in 1958 that my brother, Bob, introduced me to Jesus. It took awhile for me to just simply put my trust in Him. It seems so simple that 'how do you do it', it seems almost too simple. And, yet, that is just what we are to do. Just simply trust in Him and then something happens that changes your life. One of the first verses I was introduced to was from Deut 6, "to love the Lord with all my heart and soul and mind." Now that takes a lifetime. I'm not sure where I am going with this, except to say that I hope that all who read this (who knows if anyone finds new blogs) can look back on their life and see a time when they too simply trusted Jesus and had a life changing experience. The road after that goes through many valleys, many mountain tops, many storms and many joys! Now for sure I wish I was a writer so I could tell you how faithfully reading the Bible every day without fail will help to keep you on a straight path; how believing and living out the simple instructions found in God's Word could keep you from wandering off too far. One thing - keep your emotions low. I mean, STOP and THINK. I guess God's Word says it best. "Be careful not nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

Sunday we had a guest speaker and he spoke on the verses from Deut above. Reminded us how important it is to teach children about God and His ways. Not just once a week, but every day often.

Well, I will quit my wandering and get some needed chores done. But, seriously, if you happen along this blog, please read carefully the above verses and I will pray that God will reveal Himself to you - either for the first time, or refresh your love for Him.

Hello I thought I would stop by and say hello. I love reading your blog. Hearing about all the wonderful things that you remember. and love!

I remember when I ask Jesus into my heart too. It was while I was watching a Billy Graham program. At the age of 5 I ask Christ into my heart to be my personal Saviour and Friend.

I've been blessed through the ages with a wonderful family, and now with a Wonderful Dh. and his family.

Please take care and Only God knows what the future holds.

Happy New Year to you!!
